The Minnesota Thoroughbreds, a U19 team, have already played in the Union College Tournament in New York September 10-13 and this past weekend won the championship in Cleveland, Ohio's Ignite the Ice Tournament in the U19 Tier I division.

The Thoroughbreds are playing in a new league this season, the Junior Women's Hockey League (JWHL) consisting of ten teams - West Division - MN Thoroughbreds, Calgary Edge, Warner School, Pacific Steelers and Balmoral Hall, the East Division, North American Hockey Academy, Washington Pride, Colorado Selects, Boston Shamrocks, National Sports Academy.
The Thoroughbreds will be traveling to Calgary October 9-11 to begin league play.
